When Beethoven left Bonn for Vienna in 1792 his father was seriously ill. He eventually died of dropsy of the heart in December of 1792.

Beethoven began to study under Haydn. However, Their relationship was very wierd because Haydn was a very famous and creative composer to teach Beethoven. Haydn took trips to England many times, leaving Beethoven on his own. Beethoven secretly got help from the composer Shenk, who corrected and helped him with his music. Shenk helped Beethoven until Beethoven went wih Haydn to England in the summer of 1793. After a misunderstanding between Haydn and Beethoven, Haydn went to England alone, and Albrechtsberger took over teaching Ludwig van Beethoven.

Beethoven met up with Wegeler, Beethoven's brother Caspar Carl, and other Bonn friends when Bonn was taken over by the French revolutionary army.

Beethoven ended his studies in March, 1795, and began making concerts.
